OUR STORY
Every great logo has a story.
Ours begins more than a century ago.
The Story Behind The Logo

The silhouette featured in the Cooper Funeral Search logo is inspired by a 1958 Cadillac hearse that served Wessell Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri. More than a classic automobile, it became a symbol of our family's commitment to funeral service and the generations who dedicated their lives to caring for others.
ABOUT US
Originally finished in black, the hearse was later repainted white after an electrical fire. Rather than replacing it, it was carefully restored and returned to service.
For years, it remained my grandfather Bill Wessell's pride and joy—not because of its rarity or craftsmanship, but because it represented the work he loved and the community he faithfully served.
To him, every detail mattered. The appearance of the funeral home. The condition of the vehicles. The care shown to every family. Excellence wasn't something reserved for special occasions—it was the standard.

When Cooper Funeral Search was founded, selecting the 1958 Cadillac as the inspiration for our logo was never simply a design choice. It was a way to honor the values that have guided our family since Wessell Funeral Home first opened its doors in 1919.
Today, our work is different, but our purpose remains remarkably similar.
Instead of serving families directly, we serve the funeral professionals who continue that important work. We help funeral homes identify the people who will uphold their reputation, strengthen their organizations, and care for the communities they serve.
Our logo serves as a daily reminder that reputations are earned through service, relationships are built on trust, and legacies are created one family at a time.
The 1958 Cadillac is more than a piece of our history.
It is a reminder of where we came from—and the values that continue to guide where we're going.
